The Central Business District of Orlando, Florida

Central Business District is home to modern office towers and historic 19th century buildings. It is also a location for the City Hall, the Orlando Amway Center and the famous light show at the Lake Eola Fountain. There is much to do and see in the area, from visiting the Orlando Museum of Art and the Florida Aquarium to attending a musical performance at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Amway Center

The Amway Center is an 875,000 square foot sports and entertainment venue in Orlando, Florida. It serves as a central gathering place for the city’s burgeoning downtown district. The facility offers a number of features to make your visit a memorable one.

The center is home to the NBA’s Orlando Magic as well as the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears. It’s also a popular destination for concerts. In fact, the venue hosts multiple high-production stage events throughout the year.

The Amway Center is a state-of-the-art arena that boasts several amenities for patrons of all ages. For example, the Promenade seating level has a kid’s play area. It’s also equipped with several retail shops.

Downtown Orlando Studio Condo with Fountain View

The downtown Orlando Studio Condo with Fountain View is certainly an upscale boutique affair, with a plethora of perks. From a central mail room to a fully equipped kitchen to a pool and spa for those lucky enough to book it for the night, the amenities are pampered and pampering. A mere 8 miles from the airport, a ride to the beach is within reach. While in the area, you may also find yourself in a plethora of local breweries, which is a far cry from the dreary confines of a corporate office park. The condos location is a stone away from many of the best shopping, dining and entertainment spots in the area.

Nearby parks and playgrounds

If you are looking for some fun in the sun and a great place to bring the family, there are several parks and playgrounds in the Central Business District of Orlando. It’s a vibrant and active urban center that is full of great things to see and do. There are several options for outdoor recreation as well as daycare centers, so you won’t have to worry about the kids.

Some of the more popular parks and playgrounds in the Central Business District include Lee P. Moore Park, which is located in a quiet neighborhood. It features a wooden toddler play structure and a pirate ship play structure. The pirate ship playground features a climbing structure, rope jungle gym, swings, and green space.

SunRail commuter rail

SunRail is a commuter rail service that runs through Central Florida. It serves four counties – Orange County, Seminole County, Osceola County and Volusia County.

The project is expected to connect tens of thousands of residents to jobs, education and economic opportunities in Central Florida. It is an alternative to driving on Interstate 4 in the Orlando area. It will provide reliable mobility service during peak travel times. The Florida Department of Transportation will fund SunRail’s operating costs for the next seven years. It is also expected to generate revenue.

The first phase is scheduled to begin operations on May 1. It will run from DeBary in Volusia County to Sand Lake Road in Orange County. The total journey time is 90 minutes. There are twelve stations in the system. Each station offers free parking. The trains are wheelchair accessible and are ADA compliant. The trains also have free wi-fi. They are operated by 11 MPI MP32PH-Q diesel locomotives. The train units have two double decker passenger carriages. They can seat 142 passengers.

Downtown Orlando Cabaret Festival

The Central Business District in Orlando has the distinction of hosting the tenth annual Orlando Cabaret Festival. The event’s main draw is a showcase of nationally and internationally renowned cabaret acts. The festival takes place in April. Its name is a nod to the nearby T.G. Lee neighborhood, which features a few grungy/fab restaurants and a nearby dairy plant.

The festival has an eclectic mix of local artists and performers. There are box lunches available at the theater. The best part is the venue is not too far from the downtown core. The venue has a roof top terrace with Spanish-inspired tapas and artisan cocktails.

Downtown Orlando’s infill development

The Creative Village is an urban infill development in the heart of downtown Orlando. Designed to take advantage of the city’s booming digital media industry, the 68-acre site will feature student and professional housing, higher education, a hotel and retail. It will also be home to the University of Central Florida downtown campus and the state’s largest public park.

The Creative Village has been a long time coming. It was first announced at the height of the recession, but it has taken a while to align the resources needed to make it a reality. To date, the joint venture of Ustler Development and Bank of America Community Development Corp. has retained JLL to market the sites.
